Albox is a small town in Almería province, and like hundreds of Spanish municipalities during the Civil War, its local council issued emergency fractional paper when Republican-zone coinage disappeared almost entirely from circulation — hoarded, melted, or simply absent. These consejo municipal notes were purely local instruments, theoretically redeemable but practically worthless once the front shifted or the issuing authority dissolved.
Gari Mon#63-C indicates this is one of at least three catalogued varieties for the Albox 25 céntimos, suggesting the council printed more than one emission in short succession.
