Aiguamúrcia is a small municipality in the Alt Camp comarca of Tarragona, and like dozens of similarly sized Catalan towns during the Civil War, its agricultural cooperative issued emergency fractional currency when Republican-zone coinage effectively vanished from circulation after 1936. The Sindicat Agrícola's cooperative section had practical authority to do this under the Generalitat de Catalunya's broad sanctioning of local emergency emissions — a chaotic but functional stop-gap that produced hundreds of distinct local issues across the region.

The Turró catalogue gap (no assigned number) suggests this piece was documented too late or in insufficient quantity to receive a full listing before publication.
