Reverse description The reverse presents a bare-headed left-facing bust of Simón Bolívar, the Liberator, rendered in fine neoclassical style by engraver Désiré-Albert Barre. The portrait is modeled with naturalistic detail, showing gently waved hair swept back from the forehead and a strong, clean-shaven profile. The legend BOLIVAR arcs along the left field and LIBERTADOR along the right field, both reading upward from the base. The engraver's signature BARRE appears in small capitals at the bottom of the field beneath the truncation. A beaded border frames the entire composition.
