| Reverse description | The reverse is printed entirely in blue on cream paper and enclosed within the same braided decorative border as the obverse. The entire field is occupied by a redemption text set in an elegant cursive script, stating that the 0f25 bons will be exchanged in multiples of twenty for Banque de France notes and that repayment is guaranteed by a deposit of equal value held at the Banque de France in the issuer's name. The year 1916 appears within a small foliate cartouche at the foot of the design. |

French chambers of commerce began issuing small-denomination emergency paper in 1914–1915 to combat the near-total disappearance of bronze and nickel coinage, which had been hoarded or absorbed by wartime metal demands. La Roche-sur-Yon's chamber was among dozens across France that turned to local printers rather than waiting on Paris. Imprimerie Moderne de Nantes — operating under Beuchet & Vanden Brugge — supplied several regional chambers during this period, which accounts for the family resemblance found across Vendée and Loire-Atlantique issues of the same years.
The JP#65 series spans four catalogue numbers for this denomination, reflecting documented varieties in date or text placement rather than separate authorizations.
