Reverse description Incuse rooster standing left, rendered within a deeply recessed incuse square, a hallmark of the Populonian bronze series. The bird is depicted with naturalistic detail including wing feathers and tail plumage, surrounded by what appears to be a wreath or laurel border framing the incuse design. The incuse technique, characteristic of archaic coinage traditions retained by Populonia into the late Republican period, creates a striking contrast between the raised obverse and sunken reverse design.
