| Obverse description | Central field features the national coat of arms of Honduras, displaying a triangular device enclosing three volcanoes rising from water, encircled by an oval bearing the legend REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS and the date 1871 at the base. The shield is flanked by two Cornucopian figures and surmounted by a mural crown with feather plumes above. The entire composition is supported by a decorative arrangement of cannons, flags, and rifles radiating outward, tied at the base with a ribbon bow from which hangs a small Maltese cross or order badge. A finely milled border encircles the entire design. |
