Obverse description The obverse features the upper portion of the Cuban coat of arms, with a Phrygian cap of Liberty surmounted by a five-pointed star and resting upon a fasces. The curved legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs across the upper field, while the national motto PATRIA Y LIBERTAD is inscribed along the lower arc. The coin's weight and fineness (6.25 G. 900 M.) are indicated to the left of the central device, with the face value 25 cts. positioned to the right.
