| 背面描述 | Central device depicts a large ceiba tree in full foliage, flanked by two symmetrical branches of laurel and oak forming a wreath open at the base. The denomination 25 C. appears in the lower central field beneath the tree, with the fineness 0.900 at the lower right. A circular band of fourteen six-pointed stars surrounds the central wreath device. The peripheral legend reads DIOS UNION LIBERTAD at the top and 15 DE SET. 1821 at the bottom, commemorating the date of Honduran independence. The overall design is executed in crisp relief with a beaded inner border. |

Honduras struck this issue in the immediate aftermath of a turbulent decade that had seen the country cycle through more than a dozen governments between 1860 and 1876. The coins were produced at a moment of relative institutional stability under Marco Aurelio Soto, whose reformist administration — backed by Guatemalan strongman Justo Rufino Barrios — was attempting to modernize Honduran fiscal infrastructure almost from scratch. Outside investment was being courted aggressively, and a credible silver coinage was part of that pitch.
The two-year production window is short, and surviving examples in any condition above Fine are genuinely scarce.
