Reverse description Host coin reverse of the Mexican Republic type, displaying a crowned eagle perched on a cactus clutching a serpent in its beak, with a wreath of laurel and oak framing the lower sides of the design. The curved legend REPUBLICA MEXICANA arcs across the upper field, and the host coin date appears in the exergue below the eagle. The overall design follows the standard Mexican eagle type used throughout the mid-to-late nineteenth century.
