The reconstituted coinage series was a practical necessity — peso-denominated coins had essentially vanished from circulation as Argentines hoarded anything of tangible metal value during the crisis years.
By 2013, persistent inflation was already eroding the 25 centavo's purchasing power to near irrelevance.
