The shield features crossed lances and flags, a Bible surmounted by a cross at centre, and is flanked by the national symbols. A scroll above the shield bears the national motto in the legend DIOS PATRIA LIBERTAD, while the country name REPUBLICA DOMINICANA appears on a ribbon banner along the lower periphery. The whole design is rendered in fine relief within a beaded border.
