Obverse description Left-facing bust of Francisco Morazán, the Central American statesman, rendered in high relief with curly hair and period attire including a coat and bow tie. The circumferential legend REPUBLICA DE EL SALVADOR arcs along the upper rim, while the date 1953 appears in the lower exergue beneath the portrait. The field is flat and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the design. The engraving, executed by Gilroy Roberts of the Philadelphia Mint, displays fine detail in the facial features and hair.

Reverse description The denomination numeral 25 is prominently displayed in large characters at the centre of the field, with the word CENTAVOS inscribed in smaller capitals directly below. The central device is framed by two symmetrical olive or laurel branches forming an open wreath, tied at the base with a decorative floral knot. The overall composition is clean and formally balanced, with no additional legends or devices in the field.
