Additional information

Slovenia introduced commemorative gold issues shortly after establishing the tolar as its post-independence currency in 1991, and Bled became an early subject given its outsized recognition abroad — the glacial lake and island church having functioned as informal national symbols well before Slovenian statehood. The 25,000-tolar denomination was among the highest face values assigned to the domestic gold commemorative program, though all such issues were effectively collector pieces from the outset.

This is the first of multiple Bled issues in the series, distinguished in the Čop reference under the .03 suffix.
