| Obverse description | The central field features the coat of arms of Ecuador, depicting a condor perched atop an oval shield containing Mount Chimborazo and a steamship on a river, flanked by four national flags and surmounted by a condor with outstretched wings. Surrounding the central arms, arranged in a circular pattern around the periphery, are eight reproductions of historic Ecuadorian coins from various colonial and early republican periods, rendered in fine detail.
