Aanvullende informatie

This piece is one of the largest gold coins ever produced by the Goznak mint, struck to mark the completion of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior's reconstruction in Moscow — itself a story worth knowing. The original cathedral was demolished by Stalin's order in 1931 to make way for a Palace of the Soviets that was never built; the site became an outdoor swimming pool for decades before the Russian Orthodox Church reclaimed it after the Soviet collapse. Reconstruction finished in 2000, and this coin followed over a decade later as part of Russia's ongoing large-format commemorative program.

Mintage was just fifty pieces.
