| Obverse description | Printed in black on pale paper with a geometric guilloche underprint in grey-green, the obverse is dominated by the large bold denomination '25 Milliarden Mark' at centre. At upper centre, the issuer title 'Landesbank der Rheinprovinz' flanks a circular seal bearing the Prussian eagle, with a six-digit serial number to its right. Below the denomination, a four-line letterpress text states the payment obligation, place, and date of issue (Düsseldorf, 8 Oktober 1923), followed by the issuing authority 'Landesbank der Rheinprovinz / General-Direktion' with a manuscript signature. A vertical side panel at left carries an overprinted validity inscription reading 'Umlauffähig im ganzen besetzten Gebiet der Rheinprovinz. Gültig bis 1. April 1924'. |

A spread-winged heraldic eagle with a shield on its breast is set against a radiant sunburst halo at upper centre, its talons resting on a crossed laurel wreath. The issuer name 'Landesbank der Rheinprovinz' curves in capital letters above the eagle, while the denomination '25 Milliarden' appears in large block capitals along the lower edge of the vignette. |
