正面描述 Brown-toned note with walled city vignettes at upper left and right, flanking a central headpiece of two cherubs bearing garlands. The face carries the original printed text of the 1799 apólice issue, over which a red crowned circular overprint reading 'D. Miguel I - 1828' in a starburst cartouche has been applied to validate the note under the Miguelist regime.

备注

When Dom Miguel seized the Portuguese throne in 1828 and declared himself absolute king, the existing stock of João VI-era treasury notes presented a logistical and political problem. Rather than print entirely new paper, the Real Erário applied an overprint to earlier John Prince Regent issues — a cheap and fast solution that effectively erased, in official ink, the constitutional monarchy's paper currency and replaced it with something bearing Miguel's authority.

The overprint series is catalogued as P#34 but is rarely encountered in any grade. Miguel's reign collapsed in 1834 when liberal forces under Dona Maria II prevailed, and most Miguelite financial instruments were systematically withdrawn.
