Reverse description The reverse presents a monumental, highly sculptural frontal portrait of the Czech heraldic double-tailed lion, rendered in exceptional high relief with fine detail in the mane, facial features, and musculature, occupying the entire upper and central field. The legend ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA is inscribed in large letters across the middle field in a bold, sweeping arc from left to right. The fineness and weight specification 3000g Ag 999 appears along the right side of the field. In the lower portion, the stylized body and paws of the lion are depicted in a bold, geometric heraldic style, forming a decorative element across the base of the design. A small holographic Czech lion shield appears at the lower left, adding a colorized security and decorative feature to the coin.

Additional information

Niue's Czech Lion series has been one of the more commercially successful large-format bullion programs of the past decade, produced by the Czech Mint on behalf of the island territory under a long-standing licensing arrangement. The 3-kilogram format sits at the upper end of what the Czech Mint regularly strikes, and the 2023 issue marks the first in the series to bear Charles III's effigy following the death of Elizabeth II in September 2022 — necessitating new obverse dies across the entire Niue portfolio almost simultaneously.
