Obverse description Bare-headed and draped bust of King Rhoemetalkes I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair. The effigy displays characteristically Hellenistic portraiture, with a strong profile and naturalistic treatment of the neck and drapery visible at the truncation. The circular Greek legend BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΡOIMHTAΛKOY (King Rhoemetalkes) runs around the periphery, partially visible along both sides of the bust. A dotted border frames the design.
