Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a three-line inscription displays the denomination XXIIII MARIEN GROS. A Latin legend encircles the periphery, incorporating the original issue date 1675. The applied Salzburg countermark, punched into the field and reading 16S81, attests to official validation by the Archbishopric of Salzburg in 1681. The countermark is oval or round in form and interrupts the surrounding legend.
