Obverse description The obverse depicts the standing figure of a Wild Man (Wilder Mann), the traditional heraldic emblem of the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg, shown full-length facing the viewer, wearing a wreath of foliage on his head and a leafy girdle about his waist. He holds an uprooted pine tree as a club in his right hand and rests his left hand on his hip. The figure stands on a grassy mound adorned with thistles and ferns, with a palm tree to his left. The numeral 24 appears to the right of the figure in the field. The partial legend IN RECTO DECUS curves along the upper border.
