Obverse description Crowned oval escutcheon bearing an eight-fold quartered coat of arms with the central shield of the Wolff-Metternich family, all within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, in Latin, records the episcopal titles of Franz Arnold von Wolff-Metternich zur Gracht, Bishop of Münster and Paderborn. The crown surmounting the arms is rendered in a baroque style characteristic of early eighteenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage.

Obverse lettering FRANC ARNOLD D G EP MON ET PAD
Reverse description Within a plain inner circle, the denomination is expressed in three lines as 'XXIIII / MARIEN / GROSCH', with the date 1715 below and the mintmaster's initials 'W R' beneath the date, all separated by small rosette ornaments. The surrounding legend within the outer beaded border continues the bishop's titles, including his dignities as Burggrave of Stromberg, Count of Pyrmont, and Lord of Borckelohe. The bold roman numeral and text treatment is consistent with north German silver coinage of the period.
