| Obverse description | Bare head of Heracles facing right, draped with the Nemean lion skin knotted at the throat, a club resting over the left shoulder. A punched countermark in the form of the Greek letter stigma (Ϛ) appears in the field, applied as a secondary validation mark. The portrait is rendered in a bold, somewhat provincial Hellenistic style typical of Cappadokian royal coinage of the late first century BC. |
