Obverse description Bare or lightly veiled head of Aphrodite facing right, her hair elaborately dressed in ringlets and gathered behind, adorned with a circular earring visible beneath the coiffure. The portrait is rendered in a Hellenistic style, with fine facial features and naturalistic modelling. The Latin colonial legend CORINT appears in the lower left field, identifying the issuing city of Corinthus.
