The heading 'Vryheid, Gelykheid, Broederschap' appears at the top, above the central legend 'RECEPISSE' in large type, with the dual-currency denomination expressed as '22½ stuivers Hollandsch' and '22½ Sols de Holl: / 50 Sols de France'. The body text in Dutch commits the Municipality of the City of Alkmaar to redeem the note at par value in Provincial Receipts of Holland, dated 'Alkmaar den 7 April 1795, het eerste Jaar der Bataafsche Vryheid', with two manuscript signatures below. |
