| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the classical Hellenistic tradition with finely detailed wreath leaves. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic idealized features with a strong jawline and short hair visible beneath the laurel wreath. The Greek legend ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ (Caesar Augustus) is disposed around the effigy, partially visible in the field to left and right. The die work reflects provincial Greek craftsmanship of the Augustan period. |
