| Obverse description | Laureate head of the river god Tyras facing left, rendered in bold archaic-classical style with flowing hair falling in strands behind the neck. The wreath of laurel is rendered in low relief across the crown of the head. The facial features are well-modelled with a strong brow, defined nose, and slightly parted lips, consistent with the artistic conventions of Greek colonial coinage of the northern Black Sea region circa mid-4th century BC. |
