Obverse description Youthful head of Dionysos facing right, wreathed with ivy, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with flowing locks of hair falling behind the neck. The modeling of the face is competent, with a well-defined profile, straight nose, and slightly parted lips. The ivy wreath, emblem of the god, is clearly articulated across the brow. The flan is slightly irregular, as is characteristic of provincial Pontic bronze coinage of this period.
