| Reverse description | Tyche of Damascus seated left upon a rocky outcrop, her right arm extended forward in a gesture of benediction or offering, while her left hand cradles a cornucopia symbolizing civic abundance. The figural type is enclosed within a laurel wreath border. To the left of the figure appears a retrograde Greek date in the Pompeian-Seleucid era reckoning. The composition follows the standard iconographic formula for civic Tyche types on Syrian provincial bronzes of the Augustan period. |
