Obverse description Crowned quartered ducal arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg, surmounted by a royal crown, flanked by two nude wild man supporters, each holding a tree trunk staff. The legend WILHELM HERZOG arcs across the upper field, with Z. BR. U. L. inscribed in the lower field below the shield. The heraldic design is rendered in fine relief typical of early nineteenth-century German coinage.
