Reverse description The quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg displayed on an elaborately detailed heraldic shield, surmounted by a ducal crown and supported on either side by two wild men (savages) holding clubs, the whole set against a draped mantle with ornate tasselled fringe. The denomination 2 1/2 THALER is inscribed across the upper field, divided by the crown, with the mintmaster's initials C.V.C. appearing in the lower exergue beneath the shield.
