Opmerkingen

Pertjetakan Kebajoran was a rare case of a newly independent nation printing its own currency entirely in-house — no De La Rue, no Bradbury Wilkinson, no American Bank Note Company. By the late 1960s the facility had over a decade of domestic printing experience, though output quality remained inconsistent across the series.

The 2½ Rupiah denomination itself reflects the old Dutch colonial arithmetic still embedded in Indonesian monetary habit, a fraction that made diminishing economic sense as inflation steadily eroded small-denomination purchasing power through the Suharto years.
