| Obverse description | Central field features the cantonal shield of Fribourg, divided per fess with the upper half bearing a crosshatched or chequered pattern and the lower half plain, surmounted by a decorative foliate crest or mantle. The legend CANTON FREYBURG arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1827 at the right and the denomination 2 1/2 RAP along the lower arc, all separated by small ornamental stops. The design is contained within a plain raised rim. |

| Reverse description | Central device consists of a bold Swiss cross with ornately decorated arms, each quadrant of the cross filled with quatrefoil and foliate scroll motifs in relief, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The legend DIE CONCORDIER CANTONE DER SCHWEIZ encircles the design between the beaded circle and the milled outer rim, reading continuously around the periphery. The overall composition is rendered in a clean, classical style consistent with early nineteenth-century Swiss cantonal coinage. |
