Reverse description The denomination '2 1/2' in large Eastern Arabic numerals occupies the upper central field, with the legend 'قرشان ونصف' (Two and a Half Piastres) displayed within a rectangular cartouche in the lower central field. The inscription 'الجمهورية السورية' (Syrian Republic) arcs along the upper periphery in Arabic script. An ornamental arabesque band of interlaced foliate scrollwork runs along the lower margin, framed by a beaded outer border.
