| 正面描述 | Bare-headed effigy of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi facing left, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features. The portrait occupies the central field with a plain background. A curved Persian legend arcs around the upper and left portions of the field, identifying the Shah by name and title. The coin's inner border is defined by a fine milled rim. |

Struck to commemorate the 1959 marriage of Mohammad Reza Shah to Farah Diba, a 21-year-old architecture student he had met only months earlier. The Shah's two previous marriages — to Princess Fawzia of Egypt and then Soraya Esfandiari-Bakhtiari — had each ended partly over the absence of a male heir. Farah would provide that heir the following year with the birth of Crown Prince Reza, securing the dynasty's succession for the first time in the Shah's reign.
Mintages for royal wedding issues of this type were kept deliberately low, intended for presentation rather than circulation.
