| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely occupied by a five-line commemorative inscription in Persian nastaliq script, filling the field without a central motif. The legend records the auspicious marriage of His Imperial Majesty the Shahanshah with Her Imperial Majesty Queen Farah Pahlavi, with the date given in the Solar Hijri calendar as 29 Azar 1338 (December 21, 1959). The lettering is elegantly executed in raised relief against a flat field, with a reeded border encircling the design. |
