Obverse description Eagle displayed in left profile, wings spread upward and filling the upper field, depicted seizing a hare in its talons; the raptor's powerful musculature and feather detailing are rendered with characteristic Sicilian Greek naturalism. A partial Greek legend, likely abbreviated city ethnic, appears in the upper field. The composition is enclosed within a raised circular border, the whole executed in the fine incuse hammered style of late fifth-century Akragantine coinage.
