Turkey's 2½ Lira denomination has an odd history — the fraction reflects a valuation holdover from the earlier kuruş-based accounting system, and by 1960 the note was already something of an anachronism in daily commerce. Thomas De La Rue produced the series in London, a relationship the Central Bank of Turkey maintained for decades across multiple denominations.
The green reverse variant distinguishes this from earlier printings of P#153, suggesting a mid-run colour adjustment rather than a full reissue — though the precise trigger for the change is not documented in the standard references.
