| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crowned Hohenzollern eagle displayed with the arms of Brandenburg-Bayreuth on its breast, set within a beaded or wreathed circle and surmounting a pedestal bearing the denomination. Flanking branches frame the central device, while the divided date appears at either side of the pedestal. The margravial arms and eagle are rendered in the Baroque style typical of mid-18th-century German coinage. The legend BRAND: BAYR / CONV: MUNZ runs around or within the design, incorporating the denomination 2 1/2 and the split date. |

Frederick Christian ruled Brandenburg-Bayreuth for less than two years, dying in January 1769 after a reign that began in 1763 — making all issues under his name a compressed series with limited emission windows. The 1765–1766 date range on this piece accounts for a substantial portion of his entire minting output.
