| 备注 |
The muntbiljet — literally "coin note" — was a category unique to the Netherlands and its territories, issued by the treasury rather than the central bank and legally equivalent to coinage rather than banknotes. This 2½ Gulden follows that convention, meaning it circulated as a substitute for the 2½ Gulden coin rather than as conventional paper currency.
Enschedé's Haarlem facility had printed for the Antilles continuously since the earliest issues, and the quality of intaglio work on this series is noticeably sharper than on contemporaneous Caribbean issues from other regional printers. Tromp served as President of the Bank of the Netherlands Antilles during this period.
