| Obverse description | At center, the face value '2 1/2 EURO' is prominently displayed above the date '2018', set against a stylized map of Europe with a field of twelve stars referencing the European Union. The country name appears in all three official national languages along the lower periphery: 'BELGIQUE' in French, 'BELGIE' in Dutch, and 'BELGIEN' in German. The mintmark of the Royal Netherlands Mint (a Mercury staff) is also present. The overall design follows the standard Belgian euro obverse format as established by engraver Luc Luycx. |
