| Obverse description | A single traditional Portuguese granite espigueiro (raised granary) is depicted in high relief at left, elevated on stone stilts (staddle stones) and surmounted by a decorative cross finial atop a gabled roof. To the right, the enamelled shield of the Portuguese coat of arms is rendered in blue and white, displaying the five escutcheons with silver bezants in the characteristic quincunx arrangement. The circular legend along the lower rim reads '2018 PORTUGAL 2,5 EURO' in incuse Latin characters. |

| Reverse description | Three traditional espigueiros (elevated stone granaries) of the Minho and Galicia region are depicted across the central field, each raised on cylindrical granite pillars and topped with a cross, rendered in detailed low relief against a stylised rocky landscape. Two ears of maize flank the upper legend as decorative motifs, referencing the agricultural function of these granaries. The legend 'ESPIGUEIROS' arcs along the upper rim, while 'NOROESTE PENINSULAR' curves along the lower rim; the engravers' signatures 'F. BRANCO' and 'INCM' appear in the lower field. |
