| Descrizione del rovescio | Three figures clad in the traditional Caretos costume of the Trás-os-Montes region are depicted in high relief, their characteristic fringed garments and stylized masks rendered with sculptural detail. The central figure faces forward, flanked closely by two others, all wearing the distinctive geometric-featured masks associated with this ancient Iberian folk ritual. A donkey's head is visible in the lower left of the composition, alluding to the festive parade context of the Caretos. The engravers' signatures INCM - BAIBA ŠIME appear in the lower exergue. The legend CARETOS TRÁS-OS-MONTES arcs along the upper border of the coin. |
