Obverse description Detailed architectural view of Eltz Castle as seen from the north-west, rendered in fine relief within the coin field. The castle's characteristic multi-towered silhouette is depicted with considerable artistic precision. The heraldic shield of the House of Eltz appears in the foreground beneath the castle. The circumferential legend in the field reads CASTRUM ALCEA 1157 - 1957, commemorating the 800th anniversary of the castle.

Reverse description A bold ornate six-pointed cross occupies the central field, its arms adorned with stylized lily blossoms in high relief at each angle. At the center of the cross, within a shaped cartouche, appears the denomination IIS above the word DUCAT in raised lettering. The fineness mark 980 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the cross. The peripheral legend PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while AUREUS MAGNUS curves along the lower border, all lettering in Latin capitals.
