The date 1959 appears in the lower field flanking the figure. The surrounding circular legend reads OMNES EX EADEM TERRA NATI SUMUS in the upper arc and IMPERIUM MUNDI in the lower arc, with the designer's name WELZ also present in the legend. The design is executed in a stylised, modernist relief characteristic of mid-20th century German medallic art. |

| Description du revers | Central design featuring an ornate six-pointed cross with elaborately decorated arms terminating in stylised lily or fleur-de-lis motifs, with foliate sprays filling the angles between the arms. At the centre of the cross, within a raised cartouche, the denomination mark IIS above the word DUCAT is inscribed. The fineness mark 980 appears in the lower field beneath the cross. The surrounding legend reads PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI in the upper arc and AUREUS MAGNUS in the lower arc, each separated by small decorative rosette stops. |
