Obverse description Central circular medallion bearing a dense, intricately engraved Arabic calligraphic inscription in the Maghrebi script style, set within a beaded inner border. The surrounding annular field is filled with flowing arabesque and foliate ornamental decoration, separated from the central medallion by a dotted circle. The overall composition is characteristic of Moroccan Sharifian coinage of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with no figurative imagery. The legend identifies Sultan Abd al-Aziz and his royal lineage.
