| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned arms of Bern — a passant bear on a diagonally divided shield — set within a circular frame and flanked by a wreath of laurel branches. A ducal crown surmounts the shield at the top. The legend CANTON BERN arcs around the left and upper right periphery, with the date 1826 continuing along the right side. The denomination 2 1/2 BATZ appears in bold relief along the lower exergual area. The design is executed in a clean neoclassical style with well-defined relief throughout. |
