| Reverse description | Large bearded bust of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, facing slightly left and occupying the majority of the coin's field, rendered in high relief with considerable portraiture detail including his characteristic turban and clerical robes. The Solar Hijri date '۱۳۸۷' (1387 SH / 2008 AD) is inscribed in Persian-Indic numerals in the lower exergue beneath the portrait. The periphery is defined by a reeded border consistent with the obverse. |
