The inscription 'BOLESŁAW I CHROBRY' arcs along the upper left periphery, followed by the regnal dates '992 - 1025' continuing to the upper right. The word 'PRÓBA' (meaning 'trial' or 'proof'), indicating the pattern status of the piece, appears in the right field.
