Reverse description A finely detailed, naturalistically rendered snake in high relief occupies the left and lower-center of the rectangular field, its sinuous body coiled in an elegant S-curve with its head raised alertly at upper center-left and its tail tapering to the lower right. To the right, a stylized, concentric spiral motif in the traditional Chinese decorative idiom suggests a coiled serpent seen from above, centered on a leaf-shaped cartouche. The denomination 2000元 is inscribed at upper left in the field, and the cyclical Chinese characters 癸巳 (designating the Year of the Snake in the sexagenary cycle) appear at upper right.
